Flock Project is an installation of over 200 ceramic birds. It was initiated by artist Julie Nelson as an interpretation of Brighton's starling murmurations which occur in Winter evenings close to where Julie lives and works. The project has developed the migration theme into a series of clay bird making workshops for members of the Grounding Project, which provides support for people who have overcome adversity on their journey to the UK. The birds will be exhibited together in September. UCL is studying the project to assess wellbeing in participants and it is hoped to form connections with the wider arts and refugee networks.

"Playing with this clay takes me back to my childhood in Africa when we used to pull clay from the rocks and make pots and plates. It was a fun time." Grounding group member
